Tile cleaning can be a difficult task.  Not only to clean the grout and bring it back to it’s natural appeal but also just to maintain and keep it looking fabulous!   One thing I recommend is to have a professional tile and grout cleaner clean your tile and grout.  Most professional carpet cleaners can clean tile and grout.   It’s important to get a clean slate with a deep professional cleaning before trying to maintain your tile and grout properly.   With all of this in mind I have listed below some great tips to help with maintaining your tile cleaning.

  1. Pencil erasers: What’s great about pencil erasers is they remove shoe marks most of the time and marks made by other removable surfaces.   They get those black scuff marks left by shoes and other transferable things.

  1. Lighter fluid: Lighter fluid also works great to help remove shoe marks.  As well lighter fluid can remove dark stains from any porcelain tile in your kitchen, bathroom, or hallways.  Be careful not to get it on your hands or breathe it in.  I highly recommend gloves and a mask to keep you safe.

  1. Vinegar and ammonia: These products work great for all the stubborn areas located in bathrooms, sinks or showers.  I highly recommend vinegar mixed with water for regular cleaning.

  1. Lemon juice: Believe it or not this is a powerful acid that helps to remove excess grime.  Though if you have marble tile do not use lemon juice on it because the powerful acid is too harsh and can damage marble.

  1. Limon juice and salt: This is great for tile in front of your fire place.  Salt is great for loosening soot created by the smoke.  It’s the bee’s knees and cat’s pajamas.

  1. Club soda: Club soda is perfect for the grease that buildups from cooking in your kitchen.  Also Coke can do the same thing.  Just apply the club soda, let it dwell for a minute to break it down then mixed with water and start scrubbing.  I also recommend using a brush for the agitation.  Watch and be amazed at the cleaning power!

  1. Hydrogen peroxide: This is a powerful removal for juice stains, tea stains, coffee stains and nail polish stains.  Before using hydrogen peroxide I recommend cleaning the top surface first then whatever is left use this product to remove the stain.

  1. Bleach solution: Great for those dingy porous grout lines.  Be sure to use a brush.  A tooth brush is the perfect size for this.  Though if you use bleach I recommend you do this in a well ventilated area and use gloves and a mask for your health.

  1. Helpful tip: I also recommend changing your water and cleaning liquids often when cleaning your tile.  The reason for this is your grout lines will absorb whatever you clean with.  Dirty water and soap will only worsen your situation.  Also try to avoid using soap to clean with because it’s a magnet for dirt.

These tips are meant for tile that is in fair condition.  Some tile is too old or in rough shape.   The grout is stained, discolored and is in need of a professional tile clean.  The reason why professional tile cleaning is so effective is because of the use powerful products and the powerful equipment involved to scrub and use high psi and heat to blast your tile and porous grout.  Generally over 1,000 pounds per square inch is used to blast your porous grout and top layer of your tile creasing amazing results!  This would give a clean slate for anyone wanting to maintain a beautiful tile floor!   If you are located in the Dallas Fort Worth area and are in need of a profesonal tile and grout cleaning then you can contact Quality Care Carpet Cleaning at 940-206-2372 or email us at [email protected].
