Now that we are in the heart of spring it’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning for your home. After being isolated inside for all of winder you owe it to yourself and loved ones to enjoy a clean that’s more than dirt-deep. I’m talking allergen-deep. Dust mite-deep. It’s not something you need to dread—I have listed below some very easy spring cleaning tips and tricks for you to follow.

  1. Make a Schedule

Scope out your home: What areas need the most work and how often? Where do you often leave off during routine cleaning? Those are the best places to start.

  1. De-clutter

Studies have shown that a disorganized home adds to your stress level.  We have enough nagging at us.  Home should help relief the nagging stress of our daily lives.   Spend some time cleaning and organizing your closets, spring cleaning your office, and finally looking into that junk drawer to eliminate unnecessary stress from your life.  Let the stress go!

  1. Always Work from Top to Bottom

When you think about how to spring clean your home, it’s important to start from the ceiling down.  Look for dust on your shelves, fan blades, vents and other high dust collecting areas.   When cleaning these areas will force dirt downward and keep you from having to re-dust or re-clean your space.  Work smarter not harder!

  1. Use a HEPA Vacuum

Spring cleaning on your carpets and rugs is very common this time of year. I highly recommend using vacuum with a high-quality HEPA vacuum.  Using a vacuum with HEPA filtration will not only remove dirt but with its special filtration system it will capture dust, allergens and impurities from your carpet.  Also don’t just use your vacuum only on your floors but with the attachments on your vacuum (like dusting brushes and crevice tools) and hoses that can be used to clean all over your house. Use these tools to clean ceiling fans, cobwebs in corners, furniture, pillows, and tight spaces like behind furniture. Be sure to move your furniture too (or at least vacuum under and behind it).

  1. Walls and Windows Need Cleaning too

People almost always think to clean their floors during a good spring time clean, but they almost always forget about walls and windows. Painted walls are pretty simple to take care of: Just use a sponge or damp towel to wipe down walls (starting from the top). You can simply use a towel to wipe down blinds. From the outside, remove and wipe down the screens. When it comes to the actual window, using a steam cleaner with a squeegee is a great way to clean windows.
