How to Remove Dog Urine

It’s never pleasant to come home from a long day at work in find your dog left you a nice welcome home present right smack in the middle of your beautiful living room carpet.  You’re tired, hungry and now angry at your little cute dogie who just wet pee on your carpet.  Now you have to address the issue to prevent from staining.  So you grab whatever product you have in your closet and start to apply.  It seems OK, however there is still and odor and a slight stain left behind.  In the paragraphs below I will explain how to do the best job possible in dealing with your dogie carpet accidents.

Start by grabbing some paper towels to soak up the urine waste.   Be sure to blot it all the way into the pad so you can absorb most of the dog pee.   Then lay something heavy on top of the towels helping to absorb as much waist as possible.  Let it saturate for a few minutes.   You may have to replace paper towels when they appear to be soaked.  After you have absorbed most of the moisture then rinse the area with hot water mixed with 1/3 white distilled vinegar and finish by blotting it up with a paper towel.  Vinegar helps to neutralize the urine and thus help to rinse it out more thoroughly.

After you have completed this process, use a pet a light amount of odor neutralizer to properly sanitize and clean the area.  One with enzymes it most recommended..  Dog urine cleaners can be located at most pet stores.

If the urine has been settling for a while a different approach is required.  Try renting an extractor or wet vac.  It will help by forcing water through the carpet.  I recommend not using chemical cleaners.  They can cause more problems than solving them. They can  leave a residue deposit behind that often leads to a dirty spot on your carpet.  Like I mentioned above,  try using some vinegar.  Also you if you have a hard time identifying the spot then try using a black light.

It is possible by your best attempts you may not be able to remove the odor or stain issue.   Try contacting your local professional carpet cleaner.  With their equipment and expertise they can more often than not resolve the issue.  At Quality Care Carpet Cleaning we saturate your carpet and padding with our neutralizing product and rinse out the urine with a powerful extraction device.  Then we treat it with a microbial to give it the best sanitation results possible.  This is the most through process possible aside from removing the carpet to remove pet urine.   If you live in Denton TX, Flower Mound TX, Carrollton TX, Frisco TX, Little Elm TX or Lewisville TX,  we would love to serve you!  Also we specialize in carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, and air duct cleaning.  You can contact us at qualitycarecarpetcleaningtx.com or call us at 940-206-2372.
