Tile can cleaning can be a difficult task.  With this in mind I have listed below some great tips to help with your tile cleaning.

  1. Pencil erasers: What’s great about pencil erasers is they remove shoe marks most of the time. They get those black scuff marks left by shoes.
  2. Lighter fluid: Lighter fluid also works great to help remove shoe marks. As well lighter fluid can remove dark stains from any porcelain tile in your kitchen, bathroom, or hallways.
  3. Vinegar and ammonia: These products work great for all the stubborn areas located in bathrooms, sinks or showers.
  4. Lemon juice: Believe it or not this is a powerful acid that helps to remove excess grime. Though if you have marble tile do not use lemon juice on it because the powerful acid is too harsh and can damage marble.
  5. Limon juice and salt: This is great for tile in front of your fire place. Salt is great for loosening soot created by the smoke.
  6. Club soda: Club soda is perfect for the grease that buildups from cooking in your kitchen. Just apply the club soda mixed with water and start scrubbing. I also recommend using a brush for the agitation.
  7. Hydrogen peroxide: This is a powerful removal for juice stains, tea stains, coffee stains and nail polish stains.
  8. Bleach solution: Great for those dingy porous grout lines. Be sure to use a brush. A tooth brush is the perfect size for this. Though if you use bleach I recommend you do this in a well ventilated area.
  9. Helpful tip: I also recommend changing your water and cleaning liquids often when cleaning your tile. The reason for this is your grout lines will absorb whatever you clean with. Dirty water will only worsen your situation.

These tips are meant for tile that is in fair condition.  Some tile is too old or in rough shape.   The grout is stained, discolored and is in need of a professional tile clean.  The reason why professional tile cleaning is so effective is because of the use powerful products and the powerful equipment involved.  Generally over 1,000 pounds per square inch is used to blast your porous grout and top layer of your tile creasing amazing results!  This would give a clean slate for anyone wanting to maintain a beautiful tile floor!
