It depends on how quick and how thorough you want the cleaning to be. Two of the most common methods are spin bonnet cleaning and hot water extraction.

Spin Bonnet Cleaning

Spin bonnet cleaning, sometimes called dry cleaning, is popular because carpet dries quickly afterward. A detergent or solvent is sprayed on the top of the carpet fibers, then a rotating machine with an absorbent pad spins at high speed to agitate the surface and transfer soil to the pad.

Multiple pads are swapped out during the job, depending on the carpet's condition. The method suits customers who prioritize fast dry times, but it cleans mainly the surface and is not very effective for high-traffic or heavily soiled areas.

Hot Water Extraction

Hot water extraction, often called steam cleaning, is the method most preferred by both customers and carpet manufacturers because of the deep clean it provides.

Truck-mounted systems deliver very hot water under pressure deep into the fibers, then extract it along with damaging soils and unwanted spots. The result is carpet that looks better and lasts longer.

Which Is Right for You?
